Pakistani gang jailed for raping 50 white British girls
London, May 9 — Nine members of a gang – eight Pakistanis and one Afghan – have been sentenced to jail for a combined 77 years by a British court for the sexual abuse and rape of up to 50 white girls, a media report said.
The gang plied teenagers with alcohol before abusing them in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, the Daily Mail reported.
As many as 47 girls were given alcohol, gifts and money before being passed around to have sex with several men a day, several times a week, the report said.
At least one victim was forced to have sex with 20 men in one night when she was drunk, police said. Two became pregnant as a result of the ordeal. One of them was 13 and had an abortion.
The ringleader, a 59-year-old who was not named, was jailed for 19 years for conspiracy, rape, aiding and abetting a rape, sexual assault and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Kabeer Hassan, 25, was jailed for nine years for rape and three years, concurrently, for conspiracy.
Abdul Aziz, 41, was sentenced to nine years for conspiracy and nine years, concurrently, for trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Abdul Rauf, 43, was jailed for six years for conspiracy and six years, concurrently, for trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Mohammed Sajid, 35, was sentenced to 12 years for rape, six years for conspiracy, one year for trafficking and six years, all concurrent, for sexual activity with a child. He will be deported back to Pakistan following the conclusion of his sentence.
Adil Khan, 42, was given eight years for conspiracy and eight years, concurrently, for trafficking for sexual exploitation. He fathered a child from a 13-year-old victim.
Mohammed Amin, 45, was sentenced to five years for conspiracy and 12 months, concurrently, for sexual assault.
Abdul Qayyum, 44, was jailed for five years for conspiracy.
Hamid Safi, 22, was jailed for four years for conspiracy and one year, concurrently, for trafficking. He will be deported back to Afghanistan following his sentence.
Former Labour MP for Keighley Ann Cryer said the authorities had ignored complaints about the accused because they were afraid of being called racist.

In fact, it was A who pointed it out to me, he’d heard it on the radio/TV at work. I couldn’t believe it took me a while to find it. Obviously not hot news.
I think what slightly freaked me was that a couple of days ago, I had finished a whacky book (given to me as part of an informal book crossing thing) which was about – yes, drugging young women, some under age, with rohypnol or whatever it is called, raping them, photographing them, chucking a bottle of whisky over them and dumping them in their car or whatever with said empty bottle for when they came round. Oh and there was sex trafficking involved too, basically known as modern day slavery.
I’m not into censorship, but this is one of those books that will go straight in the bin. I don’t see why people want to read that sort of book, and can’t understand the mentality of writing it either. Apart from the money of course. Writing that isn’t much better than sex slavery. But it was spooky to read fiction one minute – and real life the next. Very nasty indeed.
I never got involved in child protection although some of my colleagues did. What I thought was as bad was elderly services and regulating nursing/residential homes.

It’s that last paragraph that sticks in my throat. FFS, we’re becoming a nation of wimps, afraid to speak out for fear of reprisal.
I would like to think that while they are being detained at her majestys’ pleasure they will learn some respect, but I don’t hold my breath.

I would like to know why the 59 yr old was not named, I can certainly think of no reason why he wouldn’t be named, especially when the police have no problem of “leaking” the names of falsely accused people, from time to time.
I would also like to point out the alarming increase in female paedophiles in the UK, women do abuse, it isn’t just a male issue. I think it is more to do with society in the UK, perhaps not recovered from Mrs Thatcher saying “There is no such thing as society”.

Indeed. The rape naming laws did change some many years ago, but that is an interesting point. I would like to know why the one who ‘fathered’ a child (I dislike the use of that word as it implies some sort of parental responsibilty) wasn’t charged with rape of a 13-year-old girl. Hardly as though there wasn’t any evidence.
I did wonder why we have a word like paedophilia. I suspect it is because if you have under-age sex there is no question of consent, it is de facto illegal. I do think society pushes the consent issue far too much. But that’s all another topic.
I think she was right however. I don’t think there is a society in the UK. Certainly no social, or personal conscience. Speaking generally there and not referring to any of my wonderful readers.

I saw this too, and same as Vicky the last paragraph really did it for me. I think duty of care is duty of care and doesn’t have any exception. Those men are beyond any derogatory names I could call them, and no punishment is sufficient but whatever punishment is meted out to the perpetrators the authorities should receive same as they are equally culpable.

Slightly sidetracking here, but yes, it does appear that racism is looked upon as a far worse crime.
We need to stop pussy footing around the ones who cry racial abuse just because they can, there are far too many using it to get away with crimes that others wouldn’t be able to.
Whether one is racist or not, a crime like this will only drive a wedge further between any chance of harmony between the different nationalities of this country.

That sounds like me opening the sandwich bar for the worker. If he goes to work all day, the least I can do is drag my idle self up and make sandwiches, salad and a flask. No work for me, but I do have an interview to think about today, but I’ll leave that for a few hours before I start to worry.

I heard this reported on Radio 4 news & felt sick!
A follow item up said that the younger Asian community locally wanted to distance themselves from the reports its ‘Elders’ accepted this as just retribution for past racial actions against their women!

That follow up item is interesting. ‘Just retribution?’ wow! how to make things go on forever. Sounds more like an excuse to me from some misogynist – racist – old bastards.

I’ve followed this case in the BBC news since it first broke. One of the saddest comments I read was from a staff member at the care home where one of the victims lived (many of the girls were in care at the time) who said she was not empowered to stop the 14 year-old going out, even though she saw her getting into a car with a man. She said how needy the girls were and how they would do anything for a sign of affection. The balance between freedom and responsibility is a difficult one and the law doesn’t always get it right.

Thank you but I wouldn’t say that. Two different views about the same story. We both condemn the actions, I think it is easy to lock into the religious/race issue when the bottom line is that it is about men abusing ie raping women. Thanks for the visit 🙂
